Freya Hite’s paintings include the areas of abstraction, landscape, surrealism and portrait/figure. She enjoys exploration of ideas and media.
A recent series of abstraction is based on nature’s repeating shapes, patterns of growth and movement.
The surrealist work combines recognizable elements whose interrelationships, combined with areas of abstraction, produce a dreamlike effect.
Newer landscapes are also combined with abstraction in line and shape.
Freya spent many years in figure and portrait painting.
Freya Hite is an award-winning artist whose work is widely collected. In 1979-1980, Freya attended the Rocky Mountain School of Art. She has also studied at the Art Students League of Denver, and with artists in western Colorado.
